Every day we experience sound in our environments such as the radio, I-Pods, computer games, cars, tools, and musical instruments. When we allow ourselves to be exposed to dangerously loud sounds over a long period of time, parts of our ears can be permanently damaged causing Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).
It is extremely important that we limit our exposure to loud sounds by:
1)Turning the volume down
2)Walking away from noise if possible
3)Wearing ear protection when necessary (earplugs)
If your ears 'ring' or seem 'stuffed up' after listening to loud noises, this can be a sign of hearing damage. Limit the amount of time that you listen to loud sounds.
